24 water supply projects start in Jowzjan

Local officials in Jowzjan notify about the commencement of work on 24 water supply projects worth 70 million AFN by Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department in the province. 

Mohammad Yousuf Sayed, Director at Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department of Jowzjan says these projects include extension of 54 kilometers in water network, excavation of 9 deep and half-deep wells with installation of concreted reservoirs and solar pumps and construction of 16 closed pools. 

According to Mr. Sayed the projects will be implemented in the outskirts of Aqchah, Mingajik, Mardyan, Khanaqah, Khwajah do Koh districts and 10 villages around Sheberghan city. 

He also added that with completion of the projects, problems of 5 thousand families from shortage or inability to access drinking water will be solved. 

Water supply program by Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, in its 15 years of activity in Jowzjan province, has dug hundreds of deep and half-deep wells to give people access to drinking water in different areas of the province.
