Boxing championship held in Balkh to support security forces Featured

Professional boxing championship titled “Police Cup” with participation of 22 athletes from 10 provinces, was held in Mazar-e Sharif city on Friday.

Abdullah Shekib Sattari, Chairman of Afghanistan Boxing Federation, stated that the goal of the tournament was to support the defense and security forces and to select superior boxers for the country’s national team.

On the other hand, colonel Muhammad Ajmal Fayez, Balkh Police Commander appreciates launch of this championship and maintains that police and people are very close to each other and people’s support for security forces will help them succeed in their tasks. 

At the same time, athletes who have come from other provinces of the country to the city of Mazar-e Sharif cherished the initiative of the Ministry of the Interior for organizing the championship and considered it influential in growth of their talents.

This was the sixteenth round of professional boxing championship held in the country and the first time in Mazar-e Sharif city.
