Uzbekistan assists 3,000 tons of wheat to people affected by natural disasters in North

Yesterday afternoon, Uzbekistan helped 3,000 tons of wheat to people affected by drought and flooding in Northern provinces of the country. 

Ismatullah Ergashov, Special Representative of the president of Uzbekistan in Afghanistan said the assistances were provided to people affected in latest drought and flooding.

He also talked about further support of his country in making vehicle producing factories in Afghanistan, transfer of power cable from Sarkhan Darya of Uzbekistan to Pul-e Khumri city and making railway from Mazar-e Sharif to Herat province.

Mr. Ergashov also stressed that Uzbekistan will decrease electricity price up to 35 %.

On the other hand, Mohammad Homayon Qayumi, Senior Advisor to Afghan president on infrastructures, in addition to pointing out to negative effects of drought and flooding in the North, thanked Uzbekistan for its timely aids.

Mohammad Ishaq Rahgozar, Balkh Governor said these assistances are being made whilst some people in North have been affected by drought and some others by flooding.

It is worth mentioning that in the welcoming ceremony for arrival of help packages from Uzbekistan in Hairatan city, besides ministers, some members of parliament and members of provincial councils from Northern provinces had also participated.
